Live TV & Streaming Coverage of Semifinals on ROOT Sports, WIAA Network & More

My, how far broadcast and streaming coverage of Washington high school football has come. After many years of televising just the 4A and 3A finals games, Root Sports announced this week that it will be airing the Tacoma Dome semifinals for 4A, 3A and 2A.

Friday
2A semifinal: Capital (10-2) v. Lynden (11-1), 1 p.m.
3A semifinal: Mount Si (11-1) v. Bellevue (12-0), 7 p.m.

Saturday
4A semifinal: Camas (12-0) v. Skyline (12-0), 4 p.m.
4A semifinal: Bellarmine (11-1) v. Auburn (10-2), 7 p.m.

Obviously there are more game going, and this is where the WIAA Network comes in. Launched last year, the WIAA Network has been live streaming many state championship games and matches. They will be covering the rest of the semis.

Wait! There’s more! Montesano Today will also be streaming the Montesano/Mt. Baker game, apparently after also doing the Monte/King’s quarterfinal game last week.

I want to state right off the bat, I haven’t got a clue what I am doing calling sports games. I’m doing the best I can. A political convention…no problem. Sports events are a whole different area. As such I have done some research and noticed that the big guys have pretty girls wandering the field for commentary. This week I will be bringing along our own Montesano Today pretty field girl……Erin “Chilltown” Magoo. Yes, we here at Montesao Today spare no expense.

Feedback from last week. – When I got home after the game I got a call from a lady in Maine crying she was so emotional over being able to hear a Bulldog game. First time in 50 years. Dozens of letters from around the country. Tony down at the Shell station related there was a crowd gathered to hear it at his counter at the station computer. In short, it is worth the effort to be able to bring home to Montesano our games. People that don’t live here forget that we live in a bowl and radio reception is just terrible. Short of an earthquake, I plan to be there. Going forward, we will have to see if the Montesano guys will allow me access to the wi fi and we can do something really good here.

Good hometown flavor.

Update
Here’s the local Royal vs. River View webcast info, courtesy of Mike Noftle:

The Royal vs Riverview semifinal will also be audio webcast by Royal’s crew, who is intimately familiar with both teams. Especially since they are from the same league and have played each other already in the regular season. Those interested can listen live at www.royalhighsports.com .
